I would have interest in Alvarez and Storen. Storen is a quality setup guy with closing experience that could step in for Robertson, if traded, until Burdi is ready.
Alvarez would be a low-risk option to add dedpth and, best-case scenario, maybe replace Quintana if he's moved.

Davis to the A's for 1 year and 6 million, we should have been all over that.

They saw something in Coats that turned them off I guess. Neither players walks, in fact Coats is worse. But that is all the does poorly, he can play RF well, he has a good arm, ok speed (for defense), gap power, does not K a ton. That guy they got plays any OF position well with a fantastic arm. But Coats has it all over the guy at the play. Coats is 3-4 years older, that must be the difference?

Does it really matter? The Sox need to do all they can to ensure the top pick next year. Maybe they should pitch James Shields 3x a week.  ;D

Orioles just DFA'ed this guy for Trumbo. We should take a flyer. Consistent .800 OPS with alot of Ks. He walks a bit too though. Can't be any worse than Garcia...

Cheaper version of Chris Carter.  Twins thought he might make it, but just too many Ks, like over 200 per year type of crap.

I was too. I guess his framing work is lacking. Braves still have Flowers for that?  Twins loved his bat, though very streaky, and he was good blocking pitches in the dirt. Just has a rep as a poor catcher, mainly framing, but handling a staff and throwing out baserunners.

MLB rules the Cardinals must surrender their two remaining highest picks (overall #56 and #75) in the June 2017 draft along with $2 million to the Houston Astros as punishment for their hacking:

It'll be interesting to see if these two additional high draft picks and $2 million will change the Astros mind about giving up high prospects to the White Sox to acquire Loveland's favorite White Sox player.

Coats released again. Apparently he tore his UCL shortly after being claimed, out for 2017.

Bummer for Coats.
